Alecia Reading was born in Arlington, Texas, in 1961. She grew up in Orlando, Florida, where she attended Edgewater High School and Valencia Community College, where she graduated with an A.A. degree in 1983. She then attended the University of Central Florida, which awarded her a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1986. She was admitted to the University of Florida’s law school, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree in 1989.
